The John Deere B was a row-crop tractor produced by Deere & Company in Waterloo, Iowa, USA. It was introduced in 1935 as a smaller and less expensive version of the John Deere Model A12. The B had a nearly 20-year production run and was produced in a wide variety of versions for special-purpose cultivation. The original B is often referred to as “unstyled” and includes all tractors built through 1938. In 1939, the “early styled” model B was introduced, and in mid-1947, the “late styled” model B was introduced. The John Deere B had a 2.4L 2-cylinder all fuel engine, 4-speed unsynchronized gear transmission, and mechanical expanding shoe brakes. The tractor weighed 3275 lbs and had a rear PTO transmission with a rear RPM of 540. The John Deere B was produced from 1935 to 1952, with a total of 55,670 units built. |
